The Spring I turned 17, brought me many surprises. Meeting him under the Osaka sun was indeed a blessing in disguise. I can still remember when he first spoke to me, that warm, rich and somewhat deep voice captured my heart instantly. Feeling bashful, I bowed my head a little, occasionally stealing glances of him.
What are you scribbling in that notebook? He moved closer, trying to catch a glimpse of the page.
Just some ideas, Im afraid I will forget them later. I replied and gave him a smile.
Im Ben, an Art student. He said confidently.
Im Lexie, taking Communication. I saw him smile at me.
Theres something about his smile, one that makes me tingle inside. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath and let out a big sigh.
Wonderful isnt it? Ben murmured.
With his eyes still closed, I began to examine his face, long enough to keep his image in my mind, anything to preserve this moment. The scent of fresh grass and flowers surround us. Feeling the cool breeze against my face, I cant help but to agree with him.
Yes
it sure is. I whispered in glee.
We sat silently, watching the cherry blossoms dancing in mid air, gracefully falling to the ground. A cherry blossom landed on his palm, he tucks it into my hair and looked at me in great satisfaction.
There you go
my masterpiece. Ben looked at me in the eye.
Without breaking the contact, I nodded in agreement, this time with the temperature rising on my cheeks. At that moment, I long for nothing else but to be closer to him, to have a place in his world.
